Course levels

Most courses are part of Leiden University's (3 year) bachelor's and (1 or 2 year) master's programmes.

Course levels are indicated by the numbers 100 to 600:

  • 100, 200 and 300 are bachelor level courses

  • 400 is either bachelor or master level

  • 500 and 600 are master level courses

Most courses at level 300 and above have specific course prerequisites (even if these are not always included in the course description).
